About me

I am 30’s something wife, mother, dreamer and try hard poet (with a little corporate slavery thrown in).

I take a keen interest in expressionism, sense of place and memory which are integral to my written words of verse, prose or poetry.

I am inspired by human conscious and history and believe that collaboration is vital in our survival. Feel free to connect and work with me.

Sharing the discoveries of this place, my island home, is simply what this blog is all about – a celebration of the places and people and how positively these stories shape this amazing Island.

I may do this through poetry, essays, musings, quotes, inspiring thoughts  – whatever form is the best for the message.

My work has been published in Transportation Press, Oz Poetry Society, Elephant Journal and The Minds Journal.

  1. I read “the wall in the wilderness.” Please, keep writing. It’s a journey of joy. The hardest part is to let go of your literary child and allow her to experience the world.

I was almost 50 when I started writing books, and 63 when my first book was published (with a lot of help from my friends). My books may not sell well, and I’ll not be the next Asimov, but it was my dream to be a published author. I wanted to leave something tangible for my grandchildren to say, “My grandmother wrote this.”

    1. Thank you for the lovely encouragement 🙂 It means a lot to me that you enjoy it 🙂 I know what you mean about leaving a legacy! It was my children that really motivated me to capture this. I am enjoying this journey so much!

Wow a published author – I’ll take a peek at your work..

  2. Hi Mim. Wanted to check out your blog and thank you for following The Vision of Poets blog. I write every day, but I’m not sure that I could write a poem every day that I would want to post for the world to see. However, I’ve read every one of yours that you have posted and I love them. Good luck on your challenge.
    Michael

    1. Hello Michael 🙂 Thank you for visiting and for your kind comments 🙂 for me I need a goal to get me back in the poetry frame of mind. I thought even if people hate them I am learning from the experience and meeting other poets along the way which is broadening my outlook in life. I look forward to reading your work – especially after what I have read so far! Cheers Mim

  3. Dear Mim, thank you for following the Interstellar Award. We will hope to see your poetry among the entries!
I grew up partly in Tassie. The Apple Isle never leaves those who have lived there, and I always loved that it is shaped like a heart. ❤

    1. Hello Joanna, thank you for visiting and yes I will be endeavouring to write something for Interstellar Award:) There is something rather special about the shape of our little island, cheers Mim

      1. Super! I understand that sometimes you visit in Poland?
And as it does not invite

  6. Thanks for your follow – and thus bringing me to your blog! I have always had a feeling for Tasmania – with absolutely no idea why as I know very little about your home! Crazy, hey!? So, I am following your blog to learn more about your Island Home and, as a bonus, I get to read your poetry and writing! Two plus in one! Brilliant. See you soon. 🙂

    1. Pleased to meet you! Thank you for the follow too 🙂 I do hope it provides first hand information about Tasmanian life. It is wonderful to meet some fellow poets across the globe. Thank you for popping over to say hi. I welcome visitors anytime 🙂

  7. I came by to have a peek and thank you for the follow of my blog. To my delight I found that you live in Tasmania! Whereabouts? When we moved to Australia ( I was but a rug rat) we lived in Hobart for the first few years. A move to the big island saw us relocate many times until I eventually put roots down in Adelaide and stayed put. I’m going to have a peek at your place now 🙂

    1. Hello, yes I am in greater Hobart (in the Kingborough area). Really a pretty place. It can be very motivating 🙂 Adelaide is very pretty too. I loved the Great Ocean Road and all the wonderful wineries 🙂
