Day Forty-six – Shadow

Shadows grey and black

dancing against your silhouette,

spirits of those past do glare

trying to get you prepared,

begs the question, “have you’ve been spared?”

haunting you with blackened eyes

the guilt from crime now surmised

keeps riding you into a certain demise,

and though you still stand tall,

there is no comfort or relief,

afloat from the remorse and place,

your existence now fighting for

a heavenly grace.
